Restoring Oak Flooring South Durham

By On February 10, 2014 No Comments

Wood flooring is an incredibly versatile flooring option and it really can boost the appearance of any area of your home. It is relatively low maintenance when looked after; some wood floors suffer a lot of wear and tear and can start to show scuffs, scratches and markings over many years.

This client’s home was a beautiful, substantial Georgian period residence in the Barnard Castle area of South Durham. With a lot of refurbishment ongoing throughout, our work was part of a programme of fantastic improvement.

We were quite surprised at how badly damaged the surface of the narrow Oak floor boards were when we first saw the floor. This was due to previous carpets being glued in place over many years; you can see from the photos how the heavy duty glue had etched into the surface of the Oak floor which helped make up the once beautiful sprung floor.

It is not normal that the first sanding grit we had to use was a course 24 grit belt to try and strip away the old residue, which kept clogging the wheels of the machine as we worked gradually to clear the surface.

The room wasn’t small either, at approximately 75 square metres of solid wood; but we were helping to transform this once again stunning old Drawing room. We are well-equipped to deal with smaller and larger sized jobs and our attention to detail remains the same.

Cleaning Terracotta Tiles Bishop Auckland

This Terracotta restoration job consisted of a series of well thought out connecting rooms.

terracotta restoration County DurhamIn total there was approximately 140 square metres to work on in this beautiful busy family home, located in the Bishop Auckland area.

We used a process of mild to medium strength Terracotta cleaning solution on a low speed rotary and soft to medium pads. When completing Terracotta tile restoration, it is very important not to be too aggressive on the surface. Agitating the areas a bit at a time and extracting the loosened soiling away to leave it lovely and clean, fresh and bright looking.

We also delivered to the customer an aftercare kit and the knowledge to easily maintain their floors to keep them looking their best for longer.

We have time-served experience with Terracotta floor cleaning and would be happy to discuss your options with you.

Stone Restoration County Durham

By On November 26, 2013 No Comments

One of the most exciting elements of our work is the variation of stone restoration work that we get throughout County Durham. Stone flooring is so multi-faceted and having the time-served knowledge to approach each job in a tailored way allows us the opportunity of achieving the best possible stone cleaning results.

The below video shows a stone restoration job that we completed in County Durham. These Victorian-Edwardian mosaic floor tiles were laid in the entrance way of this home and had therefore experienced high levels of foot traffic. This had resulted in dull and tired-looking floor tiles that the owner felt gave an uninviting impression to her home.

We were invited to restore these treasured tiles; a pre-mixed cleaning solution was applied which was then agitated with our rotary machinery. After this process was completed the floor was then rinsed thoroughly and dried with our high-powered drying machine.

The industrial machinery that we use vastly improves the speed to which we are able to restore stone floors; it also provides a superior finish. The tiles were then sealed to improve the longevity of the stone cleaning process and to offer a natural resistance against liquid and mildew.

The end of the video shows how the mosaic floor was restored and the results we were able to achieve. The homeowner was so pleased to have her beautiful mosaics back to their former glory as they provided a brilliant statement on entering the home and were a real feature of this classic property.

We go the extra mile to make sure that each and every customer that deals with our Company has the best customer experience possible with superior cleaning results. Customer recommendations have helped drive our business forward in the County Durham area and has formed part of our business ethos.

If you have any questions about stone restoration or stone cleaning we would ask you to call 0808 118 5747 to find out more.

Oak Floor Restoration Chester-le-StreetWooden floors add style and elegance, varying from contemporary to traditional. Their initial outlay can be more than other flooring alternatives, but their longevity and value for money can far outweigh exactly that.

Solid wood floors give off warmth and are an ideal solution for households with small children or pets. Routine mopping is required to ensure wood floors are kept clean and fresh.

If, through years of use, your wooden flooring starts looking tired, Absolutely Floor Restore offer wood sanding and restoration services.

Our floor sanding process starts with a sanding process; starting with a courser sand paper through to a finer sand paper, producing a smooth finish. We use edging tools to ensure this finish is achieved along all edges of your wood floor.Oak Flooring Chester-le-Street

A primer is then applied and, once dried, a finish can be used, tailored to specifically match the look that you are wishing to achieve, whether it is wax, oil or stain.

This process is incredibly rewarding; these solid oak boards were restored in Chester-le-Street and our clients’ comment when we completed the job was “Very nice job – big improvement!”.
